About my path

My Journey in Programming

My story with software started back in 2010, when I bought my first smartphone - the iPhone 3G.

It didn’t work on all networks, but I was sure it could be unlocked. When I finally managed to make it work through software, that moment sparked something in me and I knew right then that software would be my life.

A few years later I became a moderator, then an administrator on a well-known iPhone community forum, helping people jailbreak their devices, share themes, and exchange knowledge. But at some point I realized I was only using what others had built, and I wanted to create my own.

In 2013 I started learning HTML and CSS, then JavaScript, and a bit of Java EE. Later I discovered PHP, which quickly became my foundation.

I built my first websites in Joomla and OpenCart, then moved to WordPress, which completely changed my workflow. Knowing PHP helped me quickly understand WordPress inside out, and soon I was developing custom themes and plugins, learning exactly how every part of it works.

Webflow caught my attention in 2021. Because of my solid background in HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP, I understood it instantly and felt that same early spark all over again.

Today I develop WooCommerce stores, connect them with CRM systems through REST APIs, and build custom dashboards for inventory and automation. That journey from curiosity to creation still drives me every single day.

The art of a perfect espresso

I’ve been a devoted espresso enthusiast for more than twenty years - constantly exploring what makes that perfect shot of coffee. My curiosity took me to one of my favorite countries in the world, Italy, where espresso is more than a drink - it’s a way of life.

There I spent days enjoying pizza, pasta, and countless cups of espresso, learning all the little “tricks” Italians use to perfect their brew. Somewhere between those tiny cups and the Tuscan sunsets, my wife and I fell in love with Italy - especially magical Tuscany.

A few years later, a client from Amsterdam invited me over to better understand his business - the Amsterdamse Fietswinkel project, a WooCommerce store for bicycles. At his apartment I saw a Rocket Giotto Timer Evoluzione R Espresso Machine - and yes, that familiar wow effect struck again.

When we came back home, you can probably guess what happened next.We flew straight back to Italy… and came home with that very same espresso machine - and another excuse to visit Tuscany again.

Family, creativity, and the joy of building

When I’m not writing code, I’m spending time with my family or building something in my workshop. That’s where I find balance, recharge, and new ideas for everything I do.

I’m a family man at heart - a proud husband and dad to two wonderful daughters. My wife is my biggest support and the calm behind every project I build. Whenever I can, I step away from the screen to spend time with them - those moments mean more than any line of code.

Where ideas take shape

But when I need quiet and a bit of recharge time, I disappear into my small workshop. I’ve always loved working with my hands, so I built a space near our home where I can create, fix and experiment. The workshop is divided into three zones - woodworking, metalwork, and electronics - and over time it turned into a real creative playground.

Craft meets code

I’ve built custom desks, benches, and decorations combining wood, metal, and epoxy resin. One of my favorite projects is a coffee table made from a solid tree root and deep blue epoxy, resting on steel X-legs.It’s a reminder that patience and precision always pay off - both in coding and in craftsmanship.

From wood to code and back again

A few years ago, I got a 100W CNC laser cutter, learned LightBurn software, and started engraving and cutting wood with stunning precision. It took a while to master, but it opened up a whole new world of creativity. I also love tinkering with Arduino and ESP32 boards - tiny electronics that turn ideas into real, working devices.

And yes… while my wife can’t resist buying a new pair of shoes, I somehow always find a reason to get another drill. 😀
